Learn the basics of Adobe Illustrator, the software used by artists and graphic designers to create original, scale-able vector artwork for both print and web projects. The program allows users create and enhance free hand drawings and illustrations, logos, icons, and complex shapes, set type, and more. llustrator easily integrates with other Adobe applications, including InDesign and Photoshop. This class will introduce students to basic InDesign functions, enabling them to design an original poster or flyer.
Some previous experience with a photo editing program is recommended. Plan to bring your laptop computer with a trial version of Adobe Illustrator already installed.
Learn the basics of the layout and design program, Adobe InDesign, to create newsletters, posters, brochures and other print media. Particularly geared toward those with some previous experience with other graphics programs, such as Pagemaker and Quark, this class will teach students how to navigate in InDesign while working with color, objects, texts and images. After working as a class to design a poster during the first class, students will work on a piece on their own. The second evening will be devoted to tips and troubleshooting. (This class was rescheduled from Dec. 2 & 3.)
