Painting & Drawing

This intensive painting workshop will explore new techniques and concepts in painting with an emphasis on individual development of style and theme. Students will investigate various approaches to representational and abstract painting, as well as the metaphorical meaning in figure and landscape paintings. Working from live models and landscape, students will discover how a basic image can be transformed into a personal statement through the process of painting. Students are encouraged to experiment with ideas and techniques with the purpose of developing a personal expression.

Power point lectures of works from old masters and contemporary artists will be presented to complement studio and landscape projects in classes.

This workshop is designed for artists both abstract and representational at all levels.

This course will begin with a casual meet and greet with the instructor and students on the evening of Sunday, October 2nd. Students will be able to set up their materials on Sunday evening in preparation for Monday’s (October 3rd) 9am start.

Includes 24-hour access to the painting studio between class sessions, model fees, easels/gatorboards, and general studio supplies.

Artist Talk & TPS Open House with Ying Li in conjunction with ArtWalk on Thursday, October 6 from 5-7pm at Ah Haa!
