American Academy of Bookbinding
The American Academy of Bookbinding is located in the Ah Haa's Stone Building. Outfitted with the finest binding equipment, state-of-the-art lighting and the best views around, the Stone Building has won a place in the hearts of the Academy's binding students.
This internationally known degree-oriented program is one of the few places worldwide where amateur and professional bookbinders can hone their skills under the direction of world-class master bookbinders. The academy offers six-weeks of intensive binding courses each May through July. Established in 1993, the academy's mission is to graduate professional binders with the knowledge and skills to produce fine leather bindings of the highest quality. Workshops are one-to-two weeks long and meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Students have 24-hour access to the studio.
Call the school at 970-728-3886 for more information or to get a detailed schedule of classes.

Out Loud Lecture Series
In an effort to connect our isolated region to the outside world, the Out Loud Lecture Series was started in 1996 with a mission of hosting lectures on topics of regional interest. Out Loud brings six-to-eight presenters to town annually to speak on topics ranging from Beaming Bioneers to political discussions. Notable speakers in the past include National Public Radio's Susan Stamberg, former Secretary of Labor Bill Brock and Poet Laureate Anthony Hecht.

Telluride Writers Guild
The Telluride Writers Guild is a non-profit open-membership organization that sponsors workshops, readings and performances by local and nationally known writers. For the local writers, there is a call for entries; locals can submit a few pages of writing and two people are chosen to present a larger body of work to the community later in the year. The other Talking Gourds performances will be held over weekends and include writing and performance workshops and open readings. The Guild also hosts an annual contest for kids and the Mark Fischer prize in December for adults.

Visting Artist Workshops
In the summer, fall and winter seasons the Ah Haa School invites nationally renowned artist to instruct at our school as a part of our visiting artist program. Workshops include everything from plein air painting to metal arts to photography. Some past instructors include Deborah Bayes, Carole Katchen, Kathleen Norris Cook, Chirs Reily, and Harold O'Connor.
