About Ah Haa:

About the Ah Haa School...

Ah Haa School for the Arts is a community center of learning and culture that offers a wide variety of programs and seeks to inspire individuals of all ages to explore, develop and celebrate their creativity.

Founded in 1990 by book artist Daniel Tucker, the Ah Haa School's desire is to provide an environment to inspire an "ah haa" (the sound of inspiration) moments for any artist at any age or level of experience. We offer year-round programming for all ages taught by local and national instructors, thought-provoking exhibitions, art abroad programs and visiting artist workshops. Through our umbrella organizations, Out Loud Lecture Series, Telluride Writer's Guild and American Academy of Bookbinding we offer lectures, workshops and bookbinding, respectively.

Ah Haa School is located in the resort community of Telluride, Colorado. In 2007, Ah Haa School moved from the Silver Bell Building into Telluride's turn-of-the-century train depot located at 300 S. Townsend Ave. Facilities consist of indoor and outdoor classrooms, gallery space, ceramics studio, commercial kitchen space and administrative offices. In addition to the depot space, Ah Haa School also offers classes and workshops in the historic Stone Building located at 117 N. Willow Street.

Support Your Community Art Center!
Ah Haa has officially set our annual 2008–2009 membership goal of $69,000! To help us continue providing quality art programming we ask that during this essential time of growth you consider becoming apart of the Ah Haa School’s bright future as a member. If you have been an Ah Haa member in the past, we encourage you to become reacquainted with your local community art center and consider increasing your tax-deductible donation.

This year Ah Haa will enter our nineteenth year of serving the Telluride region. Our overriding goal is to nurture the creative spirit in everyone. As Telluride’s community continues to grow, Ah Haa has met this challenge and commitment to the arts through the acquisition of the historic Depot as our new home. With the expansion of Ah Haa’s educational programming, this year we will be offering 245 children and adult workshops (including 13 national known visiting artists), 10 annual exhibitions and five family art days.
