SHOW ME WHO YOU ARE
Opening Reception May 5th from 5-8
Exhibition May 3 – 27, 2022
The Ah Haa School for the Arts has reimagined its annual Youth Art Awards to become a more engaged, more intimate experience for artists and visitors. Born out of the traditional Youth Art Awards (YAA), the new iteration of this exhibition, now titled Show Me Who You Are, seeks to celebrate not only the creative pieces of participating teens, but also their creative processes, choices and artistic voices.
A juried exhibition, Show Me Who You Are invites artists aged 13 – 18 to submit work in any medium that they feel truly reflects who they are as artists. Submissions might be in a medium that the artist has struggled to master, or might be a piece that the artist is most personally proud of completing. In conjunction with submitted works, interested artists will be asked to submit an artist statement, as well as written responses to a series of questions regarding why they chose to submit a particular piece and what their creative process involved.
