INDEPENDENT STUDIO FOR EMERGING ARTISTS

For Teens Grades 7 – 12

This five-week independent studio course gives students some valuable time and space to explore their own art in Ah Haa’s studio setting. While self-guided, all students will have access to an Ah Haa instructor each Wednesday, who can answer questions and help with materials. During other days of the week, students are also welcome to work independently after school without a mentor. Ah Haa provides each student some basic materials for their art making: clay, paper, canvas board, etc. Additional materials can be purchased separately. Use of Ah Haa’s art making tools and equipment: brushes, pencils, palettes, potters wheels, etc., is included.

Spring Session: May 4 – May 25

Monday – Friday 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM

$200 Per 4 Week Session

Students may work in the X Room Monday-Friday and have access to the Ceramics Studio Tuesday and Wednesday. Students are approved on a case-by-case basis by the Youth & Teen Program Director. Please email hannah@ahhaa.org with questions and register here.

CERAMICS OPEN STUDIO

Our ceramics studio is part of Ah Haa’s commitment to create opportunities for access to hands-on arts practices for those who want to create. Membership includes access to the studio equipped with twelve pottery wheels and accompanying handbuilding tables, a slab roller, extruder, three electric pottery kilns, and a glazing kitchen. Materials including clay, glazes, and firing fees are not included in the membership fee and may be purchased from Ah Haa. Students may access the ceramics studio during the following times*:

Monday – Friday 9:00 AM-9:00 PM & Saturdays 10:00 AM-6:00PM

$100 Per Month

Open Studio members may work in the glazing kitchen during scheduled class times, which includes a handbuilding table and two wheels.

All Open Studio members are required to have completed a 4-week ceramics class at Ah Haa or similar ceramics program. Memberships are approved on a case-by-case basis by the Ceramics Program Director. Please email tara@ahhaa.org with questions and to apply.
