ADVANCED ABSTRACT PAINTING: Establishing a Purposeful Creative Practice – Krista Harris

Establishing a Purposeful Creative Practice

Monday – Thursday  |  10:00am – 4:00pm   |  $735
July 22 – 25, 2019
Students must purchase some required materials on their own. This is an acrylic class; no oils.

Join celebrated artist Krista Harris for an immersive four-day workshop designed for experienced painters to examine their personal goals and practices, experience growth in their work, and engage in thought provoking discussion with their peers. Guided exercises will spark new approaches to abstraction as students experiment with process and materials, observe instructor demonstrations, and participate in instructor/peer collaboration and critiques. Working independently and one-on-one with Krista, the goal will be to take a painting from concept to completion by the end of the workshop while developing and deepening the creative process.

Please note:

  • Artists should have a solid command of abstract painting concepts, techniques and materials as well as a regular painting practice.
  • Participants will be asked to provide a written statement about their work in advance.
  • Some materials will be provided. Information about supplies will be available upon acceptance and class registration.
  • There will be a late afternoon introduction and setup session on July 21. Please plan to arrive in Telluride on July 21 to participate.
