Explore the colorful world of painting on silk.

Indulge yourself in the magical world of batik on silk. Students will learn about color, surface design, silk painting, wax resist, other resists, shibori, and more using dyes that are appropriate for silk and wool, as well as fabric blends that contain silk and wool.  All pieces will be dry cleaned to remove wax (please budget an additional $11 per piece for dry cleaning) and then dye set. The course materials fee includes about seven fabric pieces. Kathy will have lots of extra scarves and fabric on hand for students to purchase separately. Students should bring a notebook and pen/pencil to take notes, do sketches, etc. wear old clothes including old shoes. Start collecting design ideas now to bring to class. Tue. & Wed evenings and Friday, Saturday, Sunday afternoons. A follow up time to dye set will occur about two weeks after the class and dry cleaning is complete.

Given the changing nature of the Delta variant of the Coronavirus, we are now requiring everyone who participates in an Ah Haa class be vaccinated and upload a copy of their vaccination card at the time of registration. Further, masks should be worn in public spaces within the building. Thank you for helping us keep everyone healthy!
