An Ah Haa Online class

Kingfishers are very auspicious birds! A long time symbol of peace and prosperity, kingfishers were known as the  ‘halcyon’ bird in ancient Greece. What better way to start the new year (and put 2020 behind us) than to bring the kingfisher to life in watercolors?

In this 3-day online workshop, you will create a watercolor painting of a single kingfisher in a loose and splashy manner. This course is designed to be a fun exploration into fresh watercolor painting. Learn how to paint bird form, eye, beak, and feather texture, while considering color choice, value, and light source. Water to pigment ratio, edge control, brushwork, and tips on how to keep your painting fresh, bright, and splashy will be demonstrated.

Each day’s lesson will include a Sarah demonstrating a technique of online instruction via Zoom, with critique and problem solving segments. Question and answer with students will be available throughout the lesson. A homework assignment will be given daily to be completed at your leisure.  Discussion on the results will occur the following day.  Final day will be a personal critique of final painting.

Come join this great opportunity to learn with an award-winning artist. Be prepared to work hard and have fun!
