Christina “Nisty” Tharp

Nisty Tharp is an artist and art educator. She started drawing when she was 5 years old in her hometown of Boulder, Colorado. She has loved to draw, paint and create ever since. She received a dual degree in Studio Art and Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. She has worked as an art teacher at various camps, a Boys and Girls Club, as well as different schools around Colorado. She has shown her artwork at various businesses and art spaces around the Front Range. Currently she teaches art at Animas High School in Durango, Colorado and is a graduate student in the Masters of Arts in Education program at Fort Lewis College. She conducts art lessons specifically in drawing, painting, printmaking and pottery. As an artist, she creates art pieces using various mediums such as watercolor pencils and acrylic paint. Her artistic themes include portraits, animals, and nature.
