Paula Jo Miller

Paula Jo Miller is an abstract artist living in beautiful Pagosa Springs, CO. Formerly a nonprofit consultant; she retired In 2011 to pursue her passion for painting. Now an established artist, Paula paints commissioned pieces, exhibits in galleries, and travels the country teaching her abstract art workshops, Courage in Creativity. and Art Without Limits!

Paula’s artistic process has evolved over the years. Starting with simple abstracts on small boards, she now piles thick textures and saturated colors, often with her fingers, on oversized canvasses. Her everyday life is her inspiration – creating cool and colorful Colorado wildlife and mountain scenes.

Paula comes from a long line of remarkable female artists. The finest was her Mom who took her first painting class at age 60 and went on to create many beautiful pieces. Her courage inspires Paula everyday.

Supporting her community also inspires Paula. She regularly teaches her workshops as fundraisers and donates proceeds to local nonprofits. Her greatest inspiration comes from working with survivors of domestic violence and attempting to paint their stories of hope.

Recently, Paula was featured as “Top Artist to Watch” in Art Blend magazine. Her pieces hang in Higher Grounds, Ambers Alchemy, The Body Shop, Two Old Crows Gallery (Pagosa), and various other locations.
