ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is inspired by found objects, packing material, old books, and things I find at garage sales and thrift stores. I use these materials to create collages and photographs which explore the concepts of impermanence and decay as it relates specifically to the idea of home and the striving for a sense of place. The ephemeral  nature of material objects is an underlying theme in this work.

The art of making collages was introduced to me by artist, Lynn Whipple, who taught at the Ah Haa School. My photography and my collecting of found objects was given a new purpose and solidified in the act of collage. The irony of acquiring objects to express the futility of acquisition is a tension that informs my work.
