American Academy of Bookbinding

The American Academy of Bookbinding is located in the Ah Haa’s Stone Building. Outfitted with the finest binding equipment, state-of-the-art lighting and the best views around, the Stone Building has won a place in the hearts of the Academy’s binding students. This internationally known degree-oriented program is one of the few places worldwide where amateur and professional bookbinders can hone their skills under the direction of world-class master bookbinders. The academy offers six-weeks of intensive binding courses each May through July. Established in 1993, the academy’s mission is to graduate professional binders with the knowledge and skills to produce fine leather bindings of the highest quality. Workshops are one-to-two weeks long and meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Students have 24-hour access to the studio.
